Welcomes returning readers and new guest’s to the Bella Online Vision Issues Website!
My name is Dean Ingalls and I am the new vision issues editor. My first weekly newsletter provides the format I plan to use for the newsletter and important information about Bella Online and how to receive the vision issues newsletter.

The newsletter will contain updated information concerning all aspects of vision for all age groups divided into 5 sections. The sections contained in the newsletter are as follows;
1. Education/Training/Employment Opportunities – Individuals with visual disabilities have one of the highest unemployment percentages of all individuals seeking employment. Listed in this section you will find specific programs offering employment and the information needed to get started in the program. This section also will contain information concerning methods for assisting visually impaired/blind individuals with obtaining an education from elementary school to high school and college.

2. Health/Medical Developments – Diabetes is one of the diseases causing a high number of people in the world to lose their vision. This section will contain information concerning the top medical issues faced by visually impaired/blind individuals. I also, plan to provide updated information in breakthroughs, discoveries, and programs developed to combat some of the medical issues faced by visually impaired/blind individuals.

3. Federal/State Government Topics – Understanding government programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is an ongoing process. In this section I plan to provide tips, suggestions, and possibilities concerning governmental programs which assist the visually impaired/blind with daily financial situations. Paying for medications, knowing what health care program to use, or what prescription drug program is best are topics I plan to discuss in this section.

4. Breakthroughs/Achievements By Visually Impaired/Blind Individuals – I frequently, listen to news stories recognizing the achievements of visually impaired/blind persons who deal with vision issues daily. In this section I plan to highlight the achievements of visually impaired/blind individuals around the world. Visually impaired/blind people are making breakthroughs in every area of life. Some have become lawyers, teachers, Mountain climbers, Accountants, engineers, executive directors, and should be recognized for their achievements. This section is for you the reader to have an opportunity to send information about a visually impaired/blind person you known who has overcome their disability and succeeded in their endeavors, including yourself. If you have found a way to overcome your visual disability then, sharing your story could assist another person facing the same situation to also find success.

5. Editor’s Note – You live near a busy intersection and has to cross the intersection on a daily basis, “Who do you talk to about getting an auditable crossing signal?” In this section I plan to discuss topics of everyday life of a visually impaired/blind person. I will discuss an everyday life situation offering my solution and asking for your comments and suggestions. Each of us have to face each day with strength and courage and I hope in this section to offer encouragement to each person to continue to strive to improve lives of people who deal with vision issues.

The editor’s note section will also contain such items as;
1. Visually impaired/blind support organization of the week.
2. Review or introduction of equipment/technology of the week,
3. Highlight a hobby, sport, or form of recreation for the visually impaired/blind.

Finally, vision issues readers who sign up for the weekly newsletter are promised by Bella Online to keep all e-mail addresses secure and safe from third party users. No e-mail address used to sign up for a Bella Online newsletter is ever given or provided to any other party, even I do not know your e-mail address. You will only receive the vision issues newsletter and no other e-mails when you sign up. You will never be spammed!
