Here is what Debra tells us about Emma:
When I can’t sleep and I ask, “Emma, do you want to cuddle?”, in the dark, she crawls out of her bed and over to the door side of the cage for me to open it and pick her up. She tucks herself in my pajamas and curls up under my down comforter, assuming, I suppose, that the feathers in the comforter belong to me. In her cage, Emma sleeps in a fuzzy yellow triangle bed. She loves to sleep in – usually until 8:45 or 9:00 in the morning. She’s is potty trained and when she wakes up, she maintains a strict routine. She loves routine. She crawls out of her bed onto her high perch where she does the “yoga stretch.” Many birds do this stretch, even wild birds, but I didn’t know that when I first taught her to stretch her left wing and foot back and then her right. After her stretch, if I am not in the room, she calls to me to take her for her morning “elimination” followed by three bites of a banana and a couple of bites of sugar-free yogurt.
