Why do I care whether or not anyone finds God, and falls at Jesus’ feet to be rescued and healed and loved? I care because that’s where I am…at Jesus’ feet. That makes me God’s child, and though it seems preposterous of Him, He wants me to participate in what He’s doing on this planet. I don’t know much, but I know the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. I can show you the Way, explain the Truth, and beg you to pass from death into Life.

Jesus is the Way. It’s all about Jesus, and I do mean ALL. “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things…” No matter what pretty personal realities people invent in order to have it their own way, the Truth is that there is no Way but Jesus.

Jesus is the solution. What is the problem? The problem is that we can’t love properly. We were designed and created to love, and for no other reason at all. Love is so much the best thing there is, that God created us so there would be more of it in the universe. The trouble is, love requires free will, and free will contains the possibility of choosing not to love. Look around. That’s what’s going on. All of us choose not to love. We make an effort occasionally, when we think it might make us feel good, but mostly we just look out for number one.

Jesus is the Way to be healed and made able to love. Since before He said “Let there be Light”, Jesus planned to put on skin and let us kill Him, as a perfect, pure love sacrifice to pay for all the hate and selfishness and pride and every other wretched thing we do to ourselves and each other. The fact that He is Perfect Love means death couldn’t keep a grip on Him. He didn’t stay dead. He is the Life.

The only Way to live—live for real right now and never die—is to let Him live in you. Die to your old self, and live by faith in the Son of God, who loves you and gave Himself for you. He will teach you how to truly live and love. Because that is what life on planet Earth is for. It’s the place where we can choose to be part of that “more love”, by letting Love live in us.

When everyone who will make this choice has made the choice, this chapter of the story will end. Then comes the really, really good part. God gets to have more love in the universe, and so do we. We will be able, through Him, to love perfectly with our whole free will. That’s going to be a wild and grand adventure that gives me goose bumps whenever I dwell on it. Think of the best possible way to live and explore and learn and enjoy, and multiply it by a gazillion, and God will blow that out of the galaxy. I know this because I can see what He made from nothing just on this incredibly complex and impossible lump of dirt and rock.

I believe we’re almost at the end of the chapter. Figure it out, please do. Decide to search the Scriptures to see whether these things are so. Read the gospel of John, several times. Jesus is the Way, walk in Him. He’s the Truth, believe Him. He’s the Life…choose to live.
