Pray a Little Deeper Now
A dear friend of mine has double pneumonia. A dear friend of yours has cancer, or diabetes, or a child in jail, or a marriage on the rocks. We ask God to heal them and help them, of course. But let me suggest that if we stop there, we are barely scratching the surface of praying for one another.

Pray with Thanksgiving - No Matter What
God says we are to give thanks in all things, which isn't the same saying you're thankful that your car won't start. It's a little more 'real' than that.

Prayers by the Bowlful
Maybe you get the urge, like I do, to fling a few things into a suitcase and head for someplace recently in the news, where people don't have Jesus to carry them through whatever horrible suffering is engulfing them. I want to go. I can’t go. But I have front-line work available to me right here.

The Lord's Prayer Contemplated
Someone please tell me I’m not the only one who has secretly thought that God put the Lord’s prayer together in the wrong order, got repetitive, and left out some important stuff. Now don’t start collecting nice throwing rocks. I have seen the error of my ways.
