We do not have the right to take any life, not our own or that of another human being including our unborn children.

Chapter 17, verse 31
You shall not kill your children due to fear of poverty. We provide for them, as well as for you. Killing them is a gross offence.

Throughout history gender selection has been one reason adults have killed children. It is and has been preferable in some cultures for the first born child to be male. These days tests can be performed on an eight week old foetus to determine it sex. An abortion can be performed anytime up to twenty four weeks.

Female infanticide is the intentional killing of a baby girl in preferance to a male baby. Abortion is used today to be rid of an unwanted baby girl before she has had a chance to take a breath. In the past history shows us that baby girls were buried alive.

Chapter 81, verses 8-9
The girl who is buried alive is asked: For what crime was she killed?

Fathers who despared at the shame and humiliation of fathering a baby girl would bury her alive as if her life was worthless.

Chapter 16, verses 57-59
They even assign daughters to God, be He glorified, while they prefer for themselves what they like. When one of them gets a baby girl, his face becomes darkened with overwhelming grief. Ashamed, he hides from the people because of the bad news given to him. He even ponders, should he keep the baby grudgingly or bury her in the dust. Miserable indeed is their judgement.

Babies of both sexes are aborted for many reasons including pregnancy after rape of the mother, incest and child abuse, physical or mental deformities, genetic problems and poverty. Government policies have used abortion to regulate groups within a population and to regulate population size.

Some people do not consider a foetus to be the bearer of a soul. People debate as to when the soul enters the body. A baby is made when an egg from a female is fertilized by a sperm from a male to produce a new life. Some babies die naturally before they are born, others die after they are born but abortion does not give them a chance to life.

Everyone has the choice to do what they think is right for them, but we must also think what is right for the unborn child. The decision to take the life of an unborn baby can have devastating results but none of us has the right to judge another for the decisions they make in life. Whatever we do in this life time is between our souls and their Creator.
