Manifesting What You Want In Life
We all have the power to manifest more of the things we would like in our lives, but often we put unconscious stumbling blocks in our own way. In fact most of us have probably had more ‘luck’ in manifesting what we don’t want! Why? We create what we put our energy, focus & intention into.
Check where your energies, conversations and thoughts are focussed. If they are on the negative that’s a sure-fire way to perpetuate a bad situation and bring more woe along! Make an effort to converse and think in a positive way, even if it feels weird at first.
What can you manifest? Anything and everything really. Love, prosperity, healing, friendship, jobs, living space, travel. You have already manifested many things in your life, but mostly at an unconscious level & not always what you would consciously want. From now on choose one or two areas of your life at a time that you would like to see improve and think carefully about how it would be if you got what you wanted. This is where the old adage ‘be careful what you wish for, you might just get it’ comes in.
Create as clear a mental picture of your chosen goal as you possibly can. Focus on it daily, several times a day if you can. See yourself in your mental picture happy, healthy and smiling. Do not add ‘of course that will never happen to me, I’m not that lucky’ otherwise your negative affirmation will keep your dream firmly out of reach.
Keep your manifestation activities to yourself unless you have very supportive, open-minded people around you. It only takes one barbed, cynical comment to pop the balloon of confident expectation that you need to bring things into reality.
There are some rules to manifesting that you break at your karmic peril!
You must not try to influence another person. Everyone is blessed with free will & it is a serious misdemeanour to try to override that. For example if you would like to manifest love in your life & have your eye on someone special you must focus on the manifestation of love, not the individual, however perfectly matched you believe you would be as a couple. When love comes along it may or may not be with the person you first thought of.
An it harm none. Your manifestation must not involve the downfall or illness of another person. For example you fancy the position currently held by a rival at work. You could get yourself into serious karmic debt by ill-wishing them out of the way, or you could take the ethical route of manifesting a job like theirs. Maybe your rival will decide to move, or maybe another similar job will present itself.
You may do more than just visualising your manifestation. In fact it helps to create something in the physical realms too. Taking such a step grounds your wishes into physical reality.
One of my favourite manifestation methods is to make a manifestation altar. Denise Linn's beautifully illustrated Book 'Altars' gives plenty of inspiration.
Use your imagination when you create your altar, think about what symbolically represents your goal. Use it every day, even if you only sit before it for five minutes. This keeps the theme alive and vibrant in your life. You may say a short prayer or incantation as you light the candles to reinforce your wishes. Be sure to say ‘may the universe deliver this or something better’ as there may be even better opportunities ahead that you can't currently see.
A love altar could have a red or pink cloth, pink candles, a rose quartz heart, a vase of roses, or a sprinkling of rose petals, a heart shaped bowl with fresh water to represent the emotions, an oil burner with rose essential oil. You might add a card from a divination deck, for example the Lovers from the tarot or Guinevere from Doreen Virtue’s Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards.
Happy manifestations!
