Using the Color Violet in Healing
Violet has the fastest vibration of any color in the spectrum. For this reason many people on a spiritual path feel drawn towards violet.
Violet and purple crystals include a favourite for many, amethyst. It is easily accessible and comes in every shade from palest violet to deepest purple. It is also available as large pieces that are lovely displayed in a room. Amethyst geodes and churches can be enormous and dazzlingly beautiful. My hardworking crystals sometimes like to take a holiday and rest in mine, or you can use an amethyst bed of crystals to recharge your stones in this way. Other purple stones include charoite and sugilite; both tend to be harder to find and more pricey. Lepidolite is cheaper and very soothing, it contains lithium and can calm anxiety and promote peaceful sleep.
This sleep giving property is shared by lavender, a flower of the violet ray. Either a small pouch of dried lavender flowers slipped into the pillowcase or one or two drops of essential oil dropped onto the pillow can help you sleep. Do not think more is better as in higher amounts lavender can make you wide awake and alert! Other purple flowers include violets of course and some pansies. I love lilacs and their beautiful scent transports me to childhood where I made my den and played happily under a lilac tree.
Visualising the Violet Flame can be a powerful way to cleanse your energies. The Ascended Master who brings us the Violet Flame is St Germain and so a very simple invocation to summon the Flame is to say, “I call upon St Germain to help me burn the Violet Flame.” Imagine a flame burning in front of you in bright violet shades. You visualise stepping right into the flame and allow it to rise up and surround you completely. The Violet Flame has the power to transmute darker energies that you are holding in your system, but you need to be ready and willing to let go of them! When you feel cleansed it is time to step out and remember to give thanks.
A love of purples and violets has become almost de rigeur for the spiritual adventurer and whilst you are opening your awareness of the higher realms you may indeed feel almost hungry for violet. There is a spiritual trap here of thinking that violet is a better, more important colour than any other because it has the highest vibration. The whole spectrum of light is important for your holistic health and wellbeing. The groundedness of red is every bit as important as the spirituality of violet. As someone wise once said, “You can’t make a rainbow with just the color purple!”
Aura Soma is just one way of bringing color therapy into your life. This is a beautiful book:
