Frosted Salad

Guest Author - Deborah Adams

2 boxes lemon Jello 1 c. miniature marshmallows
2 c. boiling water 2 lg. bananas, sliced
2 c. 7-Up or any clear pop 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, stir in pop. Chill until partially set. Add pineapple, marshmallows and bananas. Chill until firm, then add following topping.

Topping

1/2 c. sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. flour 1 c. whipped cream
2 Tbsp. butter 1/4 c. shredded American cheese
1 c. pineapple juice

Combine sugar and flour. Stir in pineapple juice and egg. Cook over low heat until thickened. Add butter, let cool. Fold in whipped cream and spread on top of gelatin. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and refrigerate.
