Home Loans For Veterans in Today's Economy
So the economy is "melting" down, the President and Congress can't get on the same sheet of music, and meanwhile all of us taxpayers are left holding the bag while the "mis-managers" who set this whole thing in motion are going to skate.
That's life in the real world, isn't it?
Oh...did I forget to mention that we also have the best of the best of our entire military forces still making it happen in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let's not forget about them. (As always, my sincere thanks for those in the ranks!)
And what will happen to all of these fearless patriots (and those that have gone before them) upon their return to U.S. terra firma?
A big chunk of these Veterans will "un-ass" the military, join the ranks of civilians propping up our nation, and likely want to buy a house before settling down with their families. They've earned it. They deserve it. More than ANYONE else, in my opinion.
Do you think they'll have that opportunity to buy a home? I say it's a toss up right now unless our ELECTED officials can pull their heads out of their fourth point of contact. And if these elected government officials can't come to a consensus and fix this (because unless I'm mistaken, that's what WE pay them to do), we should absolutely UN-elect the oxygen thieves who can't reach across the aisle and make it work.
This is NO time for partisan politics B.S. and I don't think it can be said any clearer.
Veterans are somewhat lucky in that they can access the VA loan system and the "good faith" of the U.S. government will back their home loan.
The BIG Question: Will our new Veterans from OIF and OEF be given preference for loans when the mortgage industry has dropped the ball? OR will they have to jump through a myriad of ridiculous hoops that didn't exist even one year ago?
I imagine the second question is going to apply, no preference will exist, and many Veterans will miss the opportunity to own a home. Even though thousands of houses across America are sitting empty right now.
It's time to make our voices heard. It's time to contact our elected officials and hold their feet to the "fire".
Our Veterans deserve it.
Our entire American public deserves it.
Make your voice heard!
