Dankso Kip Shoe Review

Dankso Kip Shoe Review
Finding shoes that fit properly with orthotics and Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) can be challenging. Most of the time, I wore athletic shoes. So, I was excited when the salesperson at a local shoe store brought out the Dansko Kip to try.

The Dansko Kip has the style of a casual lace-up loafer. The shoe is available in black and dark brown. The style goes well with both jeans and casual slacks. The shoes were immediately comfortable and have remained comfortable for all-day wear.

The Dansko Kip has a removable foot bed and enough depth to easily accommodate my orthotics and AFOs. The sole of the shoe is thick and rigid. The upper portion provides good support around my ankles. The foot-bed appeared to be well-constructed and as if it would provide good support, but as I did not use it, I cannot evaluate the foot bed.

After about a year of use, these shoes still look almost new. The insides of the shoe also appear almost unworn. The shoes remain very supportive. Usually, my shoes look quite worn on the inside and the support has broken down by about six months because of the wear that my foot, orthotics, and AFOs cause.

These shoes currently are listed as out of production by their manufacturer, Dansko. They remain readily available through online retailers such as Amazon, Zappos.com, and The Walking Company, however. These shoes are priced at about $130.00.

These shoes have been comfortable, provide good support, and accommodate my orthotics and AFOs. They have been a welcomed change from wearing black athletic shoes with my slacks. These shoes come highly recommended.
