Coloring Pages Featuring Children with Disability
Most young children love to color, and coloring pages can be used to help children learn about themselves and others while developing their fine motor skills. A variety of free downloadable coloring booklets, pages, and activities for young children can be found on the internet. The following lists some of the websites with coloring pages and booklets available that highlight children with disabilities including mobility issues. *The Capable Kids Coloring and Activity Book is available as printable sheets or you can order a hard copy. This book features coloring pages and activities featuring children with mobility issues who use a wheelchair or standing frame. *The Easter Seals Disability Services website has a free downloadable Easter Seals Coloring and Activity Book that shows children using wheelchairs, crutches, and leg braces. *The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities website has a downloadable coloring book called Play Ball. This coloring book tells the story of the development of a friendship between two boys, one in a wheelchair, and their common interest in playing baseball. This site also has links to coloring books focusing on children with learning disability, hearing impairment, and traumatic brain injury. *At the Coloring Pages for Kids website, there are a number of free printable coloring sheets featuring individuals with a variety of disabilities. *Mosaic, a ministry serving people with intellectual disabilities offers the Duncan goes Exploring Coloring and Activity Book which was created to help children become more aware and respectful of children with disabilities.
