Cheap -- but fun -- Halloween!
Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love decorating and dressing up in scary costumes. Its greeat! Halloween Decorating and costumes need not be expensive. You probably have the required stuff right at your home.
Halloween Costumes:
Dress kids in adult clothes like playing dress up. Or use white garbage bags, one with a head space cut out and another small one with a the face cut out for the top. This can be a ghost, or do as one of my friends did-- label it GENERIC COSTUME!
Make Up:
Mom's make up works fine for kids. I put some of my greenish whith face mask on for a base, then just use lip stick samples and eye make up samples for making scary faces. I don't believe in masks for kids. Too dangerous!
Cheap Candy for treats:
With all the strange people around in the world today, you need wrapped treats. They can be bought cheap in most Discount stores like www.biglots.com or the Dollar Stores. Buy the Afternoon of October 31 as they stores usually put them on sale then. They will be outdated the next day! If you just have a party rather than giving gifts to kids, check out the recipies below!
Decor
To Decorate your home stuff old clothes with leaves to make scary figures for the porch. Hang old yarn for spider webs. Cut out paper pumpkins from old magazines and use contrasting colors.
To decorate windows, place plastic wrap on them, and then paint scary pictures with homemade finger paints onto the plastic wrap. When the holiday is done. Just peel off the plastic wrap. No mess!
