Making a Milk Carton Bird house
Got a paper milk carton in the house? If so, with a few simple steps you'll have a bird house to help out your feathered friends!
First, clean out the carton thoroughly.
Seal up the top of the milk carton solidly with glue or duct tape. Next, cut a 2" hole in the front of the carton. Cut a smaller hole beneath this entrance hole. This is for the perch. Put a small stick or a half of a pencil into this perch.
Cut two small holes (1/2" or less) about 1" from the bottom of the bottom of the carton for drainage. Put them on opposite sides of the birdhouse.
Paint or decorate the birdhouse as you wish, and use a spray-varnish as the last step to seal the paper against mold and mildew. Hang it high in a tree, and enjoy!
