I was born on a small farm in Northeast Ohio, one of five kids. I consider myself a country girl through and through and I’m proud of that. I spent hours on end as a kid tramping through the woods and fields enjoying nature. That deep respect and love of nature, instilled in me by my parents, is still with me today.

I joined the Navy out of high school in 1973. Not something that many women were doing back then but I wanted some adventure. I met my husband during my first tour of duty in Corpus Christi Texas where we married. We both made the Navy a career and spent 23 years serving our country. Leaving the security of the military was hard but we were ready to stay in one place for a while.

We retired to the beautiful rolling hills of southern Ohio where we currently reside living a quiet but very enjoyable life. I have been freelance writing for several years. I write general interest non-fiction, nature and gardening, outdoor, and travel articles for various publications.

I occasionally have the opportunity to travel as a journalist on a promotional press trip. I always enjoy these trips but I don´t let this perk influence my writing. I always try to provide readers with honest, entertaining, and useful information from my travel locations.
