About the BellaOnline Gardening Editor

I am a single stay-at-home mother who helped with the care of my parents until last year when my Father died of cancer and my Mom went into a nursing home with moderately severe Alzheimer´s disease.

My Mom and Grandmother always raised a huge gardens and I learned a lot from them. They always had enough food to last through the winter, with some left over for the next year. We were a family of five. Both were into canning and freezing their fruits and vegetables. Mom planted a garden every year until 2006 when the family was dealing with deaths in the family and health problems. I loved to garden and now I am doing it with my two children. Through the 1980s, I worked at a local greenhouse. In 1990, the greenhouse closed down. From my good friend and former boss, I learned a lot, from growing plant seeds, to selling, and everything in between. If I ever have a gardening problem, I know I can call him and he will tell me what is wrong. Although I am partial to organic gardening, I do use pesticides on occasion.

I love cooking, writing, being a mother, doing things with my children, and our cats and dogs. I write informative articles on medical issues, gardening, recipes, and traveling. My articles are published with Suite 101, Associated Content, eHow, and How To Do Things. For many years, I have been a ghostwriter and a romance writer. I home school my two children and we love to watch the Nick at Night and Joel Osteen ministries. We believe in God and family.
