About the BellaOnline Folklore and Mythology Editor

Did you know that Pecos Bill was the best bronco buster that the west had ever seen and was never thrown off anything until he rode a tornado and wore that thing down. When Bill finally fell off, he hit the ground so hard that he went down below sea level and today that call that spot, Death Valley.

Did you also know that the famed Jim Bowie had a knife that was big and strong and that the blade was cut out from a meteor?

These are just a couple of the folklore tall tales that you will read about in my site at Folklore and Mythology. These are just a couple of the stories that have enthralled me as a child and ones that I actually believed to be true.

Hi there. My name is Vance and I am your editor for the Folklore and Mythology site, here, at BellaOnline. Together we will read about these and many other people, places, beliefs and cultures that make up folklore and mythology. I have been the editor in the past at other sites here at BellaOnline such as the Crime site and the Urban Legends site and I truly do love writing here. Researching for my articles is the most fun and I have learned so much in doing so. Writing and American history have always been a passion with me and here at BellaOnline, I am able to enjoy both of those worlds.

I hope you will join me as we have fun and learn about people like Pecos Bill and the famed Bowie knife as well as symbols like the four leaf clover and mythological people like Medusa and Achilles. I may even throw in some superstitions and religious beliefs. I will also be reviewing, books, movies, television shows etc... that deal with folklore and mythology.

I hope you will enjoy this site as much as me.
