Cheddar N´ Onion Potato BakeHere's a cheesy, tasty alternative to plain old mashed potatoes. - 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup sour cream, regular or low-fat
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1-1/3 cups French Fried Onions
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation - Combine the mashed potatoes, sour cream, milk and garlic powder. Spoon half the mixture into a greased 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with 2/3 cup French Fried onions and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Top with the remaining potato mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 350º for 30 minutes. Top with the remaining French Fried onions and shredded cheese. Return to the oven and bake for 5 more minutes or until the onion topping is golden brown. This recipe makes 6 servings.
