June - Preston, CT – Cajun/Zydeco Festival [offsite link] 2nd weekend in June: Blast from the Bayou Cajun/Zydeco Festival at Strawberry Park. 4 days of music, dance instruction, camping, Cajun food, and more. Times and prices vary. June - Moodus, CT - Cajun and Zydeco Festival [offsite link] 3rd weekend in June: The Great Connecticut Cajun/Zydeco Music & Arts Festival at Sunrise Resort. Fun for everyone! May - Amana, IA - Cajun and Zydeco Festival [offsite link] Last weekend in May Taste Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco Festival at the Amana Colonies Outdoor Convention Center. Toe-tapping entertainment and dance instruction. Food will range from jambalaya to crawfish to beignets, all cooked fresh by a crew of Cajun cooks from the French Quarter. May - Shreveport, LA - Cajun Festival [offsite link] Memorial Weekend: Mudbug Madness in downtown Shreveport, LA. This festival began in 1984 to ´prove´ to the rest of Louisiana that Shreveport´s culture and roots are part of the Bayou State and NOT Texas, as some folks believe!

May - Deerfield Beach, FL - Cajun & Zydeco Festival [offsite link] 3rd weekend in May Cajun - Zydeco Festival at Quiet Waters Park Deerfield Beach, Florida. Another family friendly festival, this one features a ‘Kids Kingdom’, 3 stages of continuous music, lots of crawfish, plenty of hot ‘n’ spicy Cajun/Creole food, dancing on covered dance floors, arts and crafts, and more.

October - Bristol, UK (England) - Cajun & Zydeco Festival [offsite link] 3rd weekend in October: Bristol, UK (England), 4th Annual Cajun & Zydeco Festival at The Folk House on Park Street in Bristol. Three days of Louisiana fun, food and music. Cajun and home-style cooking, dance workshops, jam sessions, and more. September - Morgan City, LA - Shrimp & Petroleum Festival [offsite link] Labor Day weekend: Morgan City, LA, Annual Shrimp & Petroleum Festival Historical District – Morgan City. This annual event has been going on for over 70 years so it must be great! Enjoy classic Cajun culinary cookin’ like shrimp. Fried alligator, shrimp, jambalaya, and more shrimp. This event also has one of the largest arts and crafts fairs in the South! Great food - Great music! September - Mariposa, CA - Blazin’ Hog BBQ Competition and Zydeco Music Festival [offsite link] 3rd Saturday in September (Sept. 20, 2008): Annual “Blazin´ Hog” BBQ Competition and Zydeco Music Festival at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, CA.
The stage will be alive with Zydeco dance music from Calif Central Valley & Bay Area recording artists. BBQ contest with cash prizes, evaluated by judges & the tasting public. One-of-a-kind Arts & crafts for sale plus activities for children. A delicious day of sun, fun and music!

September - Fremont, CA - Cajun/Zydeco Festival [offsite link] 3rd weekend in September Fremont, CA, Cajun/Zydeco Festival at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont. One day event featuring food and entertainment. Food, arts and crafts, and more. Ticket info on the website. Save by purchasing tickets 10 days in advance. Tickets at the door are $18 – special ticket prices for kids. September - Lakehills (Medina Lake), TX - Cajun Festival [offsite link] 3rd weekend in September: 27th Annual Cajun Festival, Lakehills (Medina Lake), TX at the Lakehills Civic Center. Food, music, culture, and The Great Gumbo Cookoff! Hours are from 11:30am to 10:00 pm. Admission is $8.00, children under 10 free, parking free.
