Here are free tatting patterns for stars, medallions, snowflakes and motifs. Each item in this section has more than six points in the pattern.

Christmas Snowflake star[offsite link]
Isla Cavallaro has designed a lovely snowflake. The isntructions are in Italian but you should be able to work out the appropriate stitch counts for the different sections as the illustration is very clear.

Crystals in a Ring star[offsite link]
Here is a very pretty star ornament placed in a bangle which Sue Hanson has designed.

Daisy Flower star[offsite link]
Another pattern by your host, this one demonstrates a different way of using mock rings in the traditional daisy pattern.

Erin Holloway's Square Medallion star
Many thanks to Erin Holloway for sharing this square medallion with the online tatting class and tatting at BellaOnline.com. This will be an excellent motif to be repeated to create a large doily, table runner, table cloth or even bedspread!

This little flower, designed by Gillian Buchanan, is one of a series making use of a variety of mock ring techniques to develop the single ring flower motif.

This pattern is actually fairly advanced and makes use of all sorts of split ring techniques. I would advise you to study it carefully before making it up.
