Weatherproof

Craig W. Steele

Iím grateful for the scripted cherishment
in deeply-chiseled prose;
upon this genteel, gray-faced monument
their passage dates repose.

No fire-spewed ash in urns - a grave charade?
no white-washed marble wafer;
Iím grateful for this weatherproof estrade
that makes remembrance safer.
