Orionīs Climb

Craig W. Steele

Again Orion climbs into December skies,
compelled to hunt once more. Some mythic starry beasts -
Cetus, Taurus and Monocerus - fix baleful eyes
upon Orion’s climb into December skies.
But Aries and shy Lepus flee with quick good-byes.
And all decline, with haste, to join his winter feasts
when once Orion climbs into December skies,
compelled to hunt, once more, some mythic starry beasts.
