Convergence

Cas Blomberg

We stood on the edge and looked over.
Crawled across the emptiness,
trying to find where heaven meets earth.
Pinpoints of light danced across our fingertips,
and we wondered which held the mysteries of life.
We captured space dust in a plastic jar.
Watched it swirl around like fireflies
on a southern summer night.
Too late we remembered dust could not fly
and the summer, like Earth, was long gone.
