Love in a Bread Bag

Bill Diamond

The end crust had self-esteem issues
Other slices were thicker and less crusty
She hoped to find a soulmate in her world
But every meeting was a mismatch

It didnīt help when she was bypassed
Many dates were brief, barely touching
Then they were quickly gone
Some lingered, but the fit was never quite right

Many colleagues were friendly
And thanked her for keeping them fresh
She tried to stay upbeat
As they paired up with others

It wore her down
To be left in a dwindling bag
Though everyone has a crust
Apparently she was over-endowed

When almost all was lost, she met him
They came together and merged
Both knew it was a perfect crusty match
The greatest thing since sliced bread
