Vignette of a Faded Woman

Shawn Major

With eyes of malt vinegar
Her solemn gaze tends to linger
A subtle warmth on my back
Peeking through dusty windows
And though it is bitter
I still long for its taste

With a somber set mouth
Her tight expression yields nothing
Where laughter once lingered
The lines are now faded
And though it is weary
I still long to see its curve
