Speak My Name

Linda C. Anger

Sometimes, when
I walk through graveyards
in the early
morning mist,
a stone grabs the heel of my
boot, a wraith-like smoke

seeps through veins
and into my brain,
its voice thin
but urgent,
Saying: Linger here and speak
my name, speak my name.
