Hello, and welcome back! My garden is blooming and sprouting all over the place, including flowers I'd thought lost causes, so all is well in my world right now.

I am currently working on getting the results of the reader survey put together for an upcoming article. I got some interesting responses to this, and I hope you agree.

First up this week is Susan Meier's The Nanny Solution (Silhouette Romance #1662). This time out, Hannah Evans gets her man. Jake Malloy is reluctant, however. Her brother is one of his best friends, and he considers Hannah off-limits, despite the way he's attracted to her. But when his infant son comes for a prolonged stay, he needs help, and Hannah's it. Jake is convinced, though, that he'd rather be working for the CIA than settling down with a nice young woman, and he tries his hardest to push Hannah away. However, the Evans women always get their men, and eventually Jake will wise up. This one is fun, plus we get to revisit the characters from the first two books in the series, which is an added bonus. Wonder if Ms. Meier could scare up a couple more Evans women to fix up? I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this one.

Next is Barbara Freethy's Summer Secrets (Onyx). Tyler Jamison is on a mission, and the three McKenna sisters are about to meet their match. He hopes. Kate McKenna is simply trying to hold her family together after a sailing race they won years ago. With her mother dead, she's had to take control, to be the responsible one, to keep the secrets of her family's sail around the world. Wild-child Caroline sure isn't going to be, and neither is Ashley, with all her anxieties, nor is their father, Duncan, who spends much of his time these days in the local bar, retelling the old stories until no one's sure which parts are true and which parts are exaggerations. Tyler doesn't care, as long as he finds out which of the McKenna sisters is the mother of his brother's child. Falling for Kate isn't in his plans, though, and it makes his quest more difficult. I liked this story a lot, although I did have a little difficulty with the ease of Kate's acceptance of Tyler's admission at the end. All in all, however, this is an engrossing story, with characters made believable by too-human frailties. I'm giving this one four arrows also.

Finally this week is Karen Rose Smith's Expecting the CEO's Baby; (Silhouette Special Edition #1535). Jenna Winton's life may not be perfect, but she's satisfied with it. In just a few month's she'll give birth to her late husband's child, and somehow, she'll manage all her outstanding bills from her husband's fatal illness. Except that her baby isn't her husband's, thanks to an error at the fertility clinic, and the wealthy, powerful father, Blake Winston, wants his child. Trouble is, Jenna can't give up her child, so somehow, they've got to work this out. Marriage seems like the best plan. Doesn't it? This is such an emotional issue, you won't be able to help getting involved in the telling. Another four arrow read here.
