Old man Winter is settling in but there still may be time to get your finish ready for the his Wrath. Car washes vary so if you have found a good one that has hot water and good soap, stick with it. You can't compromise a good car wash these days. Always try to use hot wax or clear coat protectant when washing and if possible, use the dryer to prevent etching from ice and freezing doors and windows. I don't wash my car in anything but Laser or Touch free washes. My previous vehicle had scratches and swirl marks from using those car washes with the brushes. The best way to wash your vehicle during the Winter is Laser or Touch free with hot water, hot wax and blow dryer to maintain your vehicles peak shine.

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting your vehicle ready for the coming winter months ahead. By taking the time to give your vehicle the best protection possible, you will sleep better on those long winter nights knowing that your vehicle is protected from the extreme cold, salt and ice.

Winterizing your vehicle goes beyond getting your tires, fluid and battery checked. You need to protect your exterior too! Some finishes and clear coats take a beating from the freezing temperatures, not to mention all the brushing-off of snow we do almost on a daily basis during the winter. We never stop to think of the damage we do when ice freezes on our vehicles, we scrape our windows and ice chips at our finish. To me it's horrifying because I used to spend so much time waxing during the spring and summer months! I do, however, realize that by waxing and polishing my car, I am keeping my finish healthy and happy. So when the weather allows--I can wash my car in the self-serve car wash and come out looking shiny and glowing!
