Borders add a nice stroke of creativity to your layouts. Try this simple yet sophisticated looking border idea for your next "feminine" layout.

You will need:
Three coordinating colors of cardstock
One sheet of coordinating floral patterned paper (preferably a larger floral pattern)
A hole punch
Fiber
Take one of the sheets of card stock and tear it into five or six large squares, approximately 3 inches. With the next sheet of coordinating card stock, tear the same number of squares and make these slightly smaller in order to layer them on top of the larger squares. Do the same with the third color of cardstock. Cut out enough of the flowers from the floral paper to layer on top of the squares.
Use the hole punch to make holes on each side of the finished squares. Thread the fiber through two or three of the squares by starting down through the first hole, up through the opposite hole, and back down again on the next square, so that you have them connected. Tie knots at the very ends.
To add a more eye-catching look, try crinkling the cardstock. You can use this idea in many varying ways. Do not limit yourself to just florals or squares, any large patterned paper or any shape would work for this idea, and any type of fiber, as well. Use eyelets, chalks, or anything else you can think of to highlight your border pieces, and this will become a versatile design for you to use on anything!
Also, you can use some larger pieces of scrap paper to do this type of border. For instance, I cut the flowers out of my background paper, behind the pictures! What else is scrapbooking about?!
