Mezzo DSA
Mezzo DSA is an anime series created by Yasuomi Umetsu, and is a follow-up to the 1998 OVA, Mezzo Forte. The Mezzo Forte OVA had very graphic sex scenes, while Mezzo DSA does not; however, there are still some "fanservice" elements in Mezzo DSA.
This series follows three members of the Danger Service Agency (DSA). The members of this group will take on any job, with the caveats that they involve a lot of danger and money. The group's headquarters is an old British double-decker bus that has been placed on the rooftop of a multi-story building. Not only does it contain living quarters for the three main characters, it also includes Mugiyama's barber shop.
Mikura Suzuki is the team's combat specialist, and is the brawn of the group. It seems her philosophy is to shoot first and ask questions later; her preferred weapon is the Colt M1911A1 semi-automatic pistol. Mikura is a determined young woman, strong willed, competitive and unsociable.
Kenichi Kurokawa is a bitter ex-cop who likes to think he's in charge of the group. He also is the one who is usually arranging jobs for the DSA. Kurokawa drives a pink Volkswagen Beetle, which is used rather regularly when they're on a case. Mikura and Harada, the third member of the trio, refer to Kurokawa as "pops." His knowledge of underworld dealings is a valuable asset to the group. However, Kurokawa is also being hunted by an assassin sent by Black Scissors.
Tomohisa Harada is a pointy-haired young man. He has expertise with androids and other technical things. Harada is also interested in Mikura, but he won't admit to it. Asami Igurashi is a schoolgirl who is rescued by Mikura in the first episode of the series. She's a quiet girl who later becomes a member of the DSA.
Chiyoki Mugiyama is a barber, and is often a source of information for the DSA. However, it turns out that he is also the leader of Black Scissors, a mercenary group that has been contracted to kill Kurokawa.
Mezzo DSA has some decent animation and a decent story to tell. However, this is definitely not an anime series being aimed at younger viewers. With the "fanservice" that features Mikura, as well as some of the blood and violence included in this series, I would recommend Mezzo DSA to anime viewers who are 17 or 18 years of age and older.
