Angry Birds Seasons Holiday Edition
If you're a fan of the Angry Birds game - which includes most hand held gamers, judging by download statistics - have a winter wonderland of fun with the snowy update, Angry Bird Seasons Holiday Edition!
The Angry Bird Seasons game downloads to most smartphone systems for free. It still has the same basic gameplay as Angry Birds, which I *highly* recommend you play through first to get the hang of the different birds and their talents. In essence you are using a slingshot to fire birds with different abilities in order to destroy evil green pigs. This is a "side scroller" layout - two dimensional - but the intricate layouts are quite fun. It can be a real challenge to take out the pigs in their dastardly fortresses.
With Angry Bird Seasons, they rolled the game levels out one by one through the Christmas season in 2010. The levels featured snow gently falling from above, red presents in the layouts, and Christmassy music playing in the background. You also get to hear the gleeful shouts as the birds fly across the sky.
Even the level selection screen is quite cute - it mimics the style of an advent calendar, with each set of doors opening and revealing the level within. If you downloaded the game before all the doors have opened, then you have to wait for each day to offer up a new present!
Is there any downside to downloading this delightful release? Well, they definitely delve right into the more challenging levels with this one, so it is good to practice up with the regular Angry Birds game before you give this one a try. That way you understand how the different characters work.
If you download the Holiday Edition for the Android, you get all the Halloween episodes as well for free, so that means you have not only fun snowy scenes to play with but also pumpkin-filled Halloween ones as well!
Just a few weeks ago I was flying in an airplane on my way back from relatives and the person in front of me was playing with Angry Birds the whole way back. These guys are everywhere! If you haven't given them a try yet, download them and see what the fun is about!
