Tempt frozen dessert

Tempt frozen dessert
Food allergy sufferers don’t have to feel left out anymore when it comes to eating ice cream. Numerous food manufacturers are producing frozen desserts that cater to those with food allergies.

One of my favorites is Tempt non-dairy frozen dessert which is free of dairy, egg and soy. It fills the bill perfectly for my food allergy issues. This vegan dessert is made with hempmilk instead of dairy or soy milk.

Hemp milk is made from water and hemp seeds, which apparently are one of the plant kingdom’s most complete sources of protein, as well as an ample supply of omega 3 and 6, magnesium and antioxidants, like Vitamin E and chlorophyll. That doesn’t mean Tempt frozen dessert is a health food. It needs to be eaten sparingly because it is not low in calories, fat or sugar.

But when the craving strikes for something frozen and sweet, this product satisfies my sweet tooth. It tastes as good as ice cream to me and has a smooth, creamy texture, sort of a cross between frozen yogurt and ice cream.

My non-allergic family members who sampled it and said it was delicious but lacked the creaminess of dairy ice cream. They said they would buy regular ice cream if given the choice. That’s okay. It just leaves more for me.

My preferred flavor is Mint Chip. Every bite is a perfect blend of mint and bits of chocolate. I liked that it wasn’t artificially colored green like other frozen mint desserts.

Another flavor I’ve tried and enjoyed is Chocolate Biscotti which will really appeal to you if you like coffee. The coffee flavor is not overwhelming and it contains little pieces of chocolate coffee biscotti. I am looking forward to trying the other three flavors, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Fudge or Coconut Lime.

Pluses of Tempt Frozen Dessert:

•Free of dairy, soy and egg.
•Tastes as good as ice cream although not as creamy.

Minuses:

•Can be hard to find. Look for it in grocery stores such as Whole Food Markets.
•Costs as much as premium ice cream.
