Party Preparation
There are a few items that say party no matter what. And if you have them in your home, you are more likely to be at ease throwing a planned event. With these in your home you will defiantly be calm suggesting a more spur-of-the-moment gathering in your home.
First have a bottle (or two) of champagne on hand. Even if you never throw a soiree you will most likely have an opportunity to celebrate something wonderful and/or make a toast at some time. You will typically find a reason to drink the champagne before it ever goes bad. Celebrating, after all, does not have to be a huge reason to open this chilled bottle that tells you and those toasting that you are happy. Good news, a promotion, a sunny day, a romantic night – they are all reasons to recognize that life is good and worth recognizing and toasting.
Next have some cheese and crackers on hand. These two staples are very economical and go well with lots of occasions. They work better as an after school snack than a bag of chips. Kids will eat fewer crackers and cheese that they would an open (and probably large) bag of potato chips. More nutritious than chips or something else crunchy, cheese and crackers are perfect for a party. That is the biggest plus; they pair nicely with your chilled bottle of champagne. Hence you are even more prepared to throw that Christmas or New Years Even party at your place.
Every party needs something to display the cheese and crackers (or another appetizer upon). If you do any impulse shopping look for one cute tray – nothing fancy – just something you love and would love to display. There’s also some cute napkins which can easily be stashed anywhere for that planned (or impromptu) gathering of yours.
All these items are things you can purchase cheap and on the fly. When shopping for groceries or at a bargain shop for a pair of shoes. You’ll probably find a set of matching cocktail plates for under $10. There are cocktail napkins for $1.99 or so. How about bargain invites for $2.99? Then there are those much appreciated thank you notes. You don’t have to set out to get these all today or even by the end of the week. These are staples which can be purchased over time with the plan that you will soon be prepared to throw a gather at your place.
It’s easy to throw a planned party when you already have all the fixing and details stashed in your home. Now you can pull off a last minute gathering too.
