How To Make Scented Gift Items
There many occasions and holidays year-round and for each to be as memorable as possible, you think of unique gifts to give away to friends and loved ones.

Though it’s easy to just buy one generic gift for everybody, it's still better to personalize because it makes the gesture heartfelt. So let your creativity take over and learn how to make scented gift items.

It’s not really complicated to come up with personalized gifts especially when you understand that in order to make scented items, there are many possibilities that you can explore. It's even exciting to choose a scent which you can base according to the receiver’s personality or at least how you see them.

Floral scents are for girl friends who love to flaunt their femininity every time, green scents for those with on-the-go attitude, oriental for sophisticated types who wouldn’t be caught unkempt and unpolished, chypre for the younger set and so on.

Almost any item can be treated with scents. Your workaholic friend can benefit from power naps so give a scented pillow. Buy pillow stuffing at your local fabric store. You can choose from the most comfortable to the most luxurious. Pair it with pillow case that is inviting and soft to touch. Before sealing the pillow spray on some fabric fragrance and you instantly turned a simple and common gift to a personalized one.

Another highly-appreciated gift item is bath oils. And lucky you, they’re easy to make as well. First you need to choose the essential oils. Drop by your favorite perfume shop or health food store and try popular scents such as lemon, jasmine, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, peppermint and rose. Depending on the season, you may like other new additions so test them as well.

After choosing the essential oils, you then choose carrier oil. Carrier oil is the base oil which “carries” the scent to your skin. Choose those with light scents taking into consideration that you will use it in the bath. Popular choices are virgin coconut oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel and jojoba.

To make the bath oils attractive, add natural colorants, shells or herbs. Fresh scents can come in green, rose scent in red and citrus scents in orange or yellow. Mix the colorants with distilled water. Then mix the essential oil and carrier oil. Use equal parts for each type. Then pour the bath oils in nice bottles, tie a ribbon around it and that’s it, you have successfully learned how to make scented gift items.

You can be as creative and imaginative as you want. You can make scented candles, stationary, closet fresheners, drawer liners, soaps and lotions.
