It is upsetting news when you hear that a great driver like Kasey Kahne leaves his team five races before the end of the season to start driving for another team but he had a very good reason for his decision to make a career move.

Kasey Kahne is supposed to start driving for Red Bull Racing for next season but many issues started with Richard Petty Motorsports for Kasey Kahne and his team and he felt that it was best to part ways. There are many reasons that have been mentioned, mostly as rumors, as to why Kasey Kahne left Richard Petty Motorsports on such short notice, and one of those rumors being the fact that Richard Petty Motorsports has not paid Kasey Kahne in three months. Now there is no way to prove this at the moment since many aspects of the situation is being kept private for the time being.

In my opinion if I would be racing for NASCAR and I was not be paid for my services consistently, I would leave that corporation and drive for a team that is going to pay me. Of course, Kasey Kahne does have other income from the sprint car racing teams that he owns but he still has to have money to maintain those teams and to live off of. Kasey Kahne is better off where he is anyway because he is only going to be with Red Bull Racing for next season and then in 2012 he is supposedly going to be joining Hendrick Motorsports to drive the #5 car, which is being driven by Mark Martin, in the mean time. Mark Martin is supposed to be retiring from NASCAR, but that is still to be determined. This is not the first time that Mark Martin has said that he is going to retire and did not follow through with it.

Hopefully, everything will work out for Kasey Kahne and he will be able to be a part of Hendrick Motorsports because he is a great driver but he has not been able to show his full potential in NASCAR since he has always been stuck with lower grade equipment with every team that he has been with so far. I think once he gets to Hendrick Motorsports, all the NASCAR fans will be able to see what Kasey Kahne is truely capable of.
