Once again it’s almost time for Halloween. If you need an affordable idea for a cat costume, for either a child or an adult, how about a white cat Halloween costume? Or perhaps a black cat costume?

As with the black cat costume, the white cat Halloween costume can be as elaborate or as simple as you wish to make it.

Here are some ideas and suggestions to get you started. And remember, your closet just might be your best friend!

Body Attire

Begin with white attire of any kind – a white shirt and pants, a white dress, a white bodysuit and tights, a white top and skirt, or whatever you have on hand. If you don’t (or your child doesn’t) have something white in your wardrobe, look at discount stores. You can usually find good deals and it doesn’t need to be fancy, just white.

Face and Ears

There are many creative options when transforming one’s face into a white cat face. Most easily is via make-up. White make-up to cover the face, any color eye make-up to complement the look – white or whatever you’d like – and lightly colored lipstick. Draw whiskers (again use whatever color you prefer – I would suggest light gray) with an eye pencil. Face painting kits offer the option for even more creativity and fun. Perhaps transform your cat costume into a white and orange cat, or white with black patches. Be creative! You are limited only by your imagination. You can also opt to purchase an inexpensive pair of ears or a mask.

Tail

Again, there are many options available but the most affordable tail option will be to create your own. One idea is to take a white belt, attach it to a piece of rope (painted white) and tie the rope around the waist. There you have it; a white cat tail! Another idea is to use a white tie and attach that to a belt. Again, be creative and look through your closet. See what you have on hand that might work. Of course you can also buy a cat tail.

Shoes

Any white pair of footwear will work – shoes, boots, sneakers, sandals, or anything else you have in your closet. Pair these with white socks or stockings, and you’ll have the perfect white cat paws.

As with any great costume, accessories are important. Here are just a few ideas you can add to your white cat Halloween costume.
