Opt for these instead of regular diner fare. For the best service and eating experience, visit Pamela’s during the week and leave the long lines and slower weekend service to less savvy travelers. Franktuary
Some kids wouldn’t eat much more than burgers, fries, pizza, and hot dogs if the adults in their lives didn’t encourage them to do otherwise. But if you’re traveling, and you just want your kids to have fun, Franktuary might be a great place to go for a good hot dog. Both you and the kids will be pleased. Adults may want to try culinary hot dog flavors like the Pittsburgh or El Greco while picky-eater kids can stick with mustard and ketchup (Heinz, of course!). Part of the Mattress Factory Contemporary Art Museum, the café by the same name is an excellent place to stop before or after a visit to the main attraction. The fare here is NOT for picky eaters, but if you are traveling with older children with adventurous palettes, the café may be just the place for you and your kids because of its location. With a cafeteria-style atmosphere, Steel City Rib House is a fine casual experience for kids, and it has all the delicious ribs and home-style foods that draw in hearty-eating adults. It accompanies ribs with soulful fare like collard greens and corn bread, and the taste is divine.
