Skippy Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
If you eat peanut butter, you absolutely should be going for the natural varieties. It is scary how much added sugar and junk you are ingesting otherwise! Skippy offers a tasty version.
The Skippy Natural Creamy peanut butter spread does NOT separate out like some other natural varieties do. So there's no need to "stir it all back together" after it's been out for a while. You can store this on a shelf - you don't need to refrigerate it. So that makes it great for the car, for dorm rooms, for lockers and for desk drawers. You always know you have a tasty form of protein on hand.
The ingredient list for this is awesome. Roasted peanuts sugar, palm oil, salt. That's it. Nothing else!
Yes, it does have sugar in it - but ironically even so the final carb count - 4g net carbs per serving - is still far less than many "sugar-free" varieties out there! Plus you don't deal with the sugar alcohols those other brands put in. So don't let that sugar ingredient bother you. It is a small amount.
You get 7g of protein per serving, which is great. Protein is very important for your body. You also get 20% of your niacin and 10% of your vitamin E. there is 150mg of sodium which isn't bad. You get 2g of fiber per serving, and no cholesterol. No trans fats either!
The key is to mix it up with something healthy. Put some on celery sticks. How about cucumber slices? Make a low carb peanut butter and jelly wrap with sugar free jelly or jam.
This is absolutely what you should be giving your kids, if they are peanut butter fans. It's not artificial in any way. It's not loaded with sugars or corn oils. It is what you would make if you actually ground up peanuts in your home.
The flavor? It's great. You are not "sacrificing" here by going with the good stuff. It's creamy, flavorful, everything I could want in a peanut butter. I strongly believe that natural flavors come out best. For those thinking green, it's made in Arkansas, so if you're in the US it's "local", and the container and lid are both plastic which can be recycled.
