Are All Shoes Made For Walking?
I have to share this story with you. Hubby and I were on our way to see a movie. The theater was in the mall so it gave me time to do a quick eyes left, eyes right at the store windows as we walked throughout the mall.
It wasn't the eyes left or eyes right that caught my attention, the action was straight ahead. One thing I learned when I was a "younger woman" was how to walk in heels. However the heels (shoes) of today aren't really made for walking. If you can stand in them, that is a major accomplishment.
A young lady was making her way timidly through the mall because she could not manage the shoes she was wearing. Before she realized it, the shoes were in charge. She did a full blown split. Lucky for her, more so for us, she was wearing pants. Of course there were people that came to her rescue.
As we turned the corner approaching the theater, another young lady lost her footing as she was trying to manage the shoes she was wearing. She wasn't so lucky. She twisted her ankle.
Are All Shoes Made For Walking?
No! Who designed these shoes? I guarantee you that it's someone that doesn't walk in them on a daily basis. Stiletto heels with straps and buckles, they actually look like a bondage piece.
When you're looking at purchasing shoes, take into consideration the occasion for which you'll be wearing them. While stiletto's are marketed as a shoe that will give you the appearance of great leg length, they can actually cause you back problems later in life. Ask your chiropractor. They are also not good to wear when shopping as the young ladies learned from their experiences in the mall. And don't always follow celebrities and their styles. If you ever see them in their "real" world, you wouldn't recognize most of them.
Shoes are made to cover your feet. The stylish element comes in the choice "You" make and the "Comfort" they give to "Your" feet. If it hurts when you try it on in the store, it will always hurt. If you can't stand up straight in the store when trying a shoe, you will never stand up straight.
Can you find style and comfort in one shoe? Of course you can. Just make sure you're happy with the style and comfort your purchase. When you feet hurt, your entire body hurts. Only you can save your feet.
That's it for this week, As always …
