Eight to Six Months Check It Twice List
We are moving on to then next section of your lists. The things here I occasionally mention them in different stages,in other words I repeat myself without a doubt. I just want to make sure that the important items are covered.
Go through your budget, make sure you have calculated everything. Allow extra room for mistakes and over budgets. Do not forget to include your wedding party, yourselves and your family in the headcount. It is one of those things that is easily forgotten.
Make sure that your passports are up-to-date,check that our destination does not require and schedule doctors’ appointments for any shots you may need to travel to your chosen destination
Shop for bridesmaids’ dresses. Allow time for the dresses to be ordered and sized.
Meet with the officiant. Map out the ceremony and confirm that you have all the official documents for the wedding (these vary by county and religion).
Send save-the-date cards. I also send another set to out of town guests closer to the wedding day.
Reserve structural and electrical necessities. Book portable toilets for outdoor events, extra chairs if you need them, lighting components, and so on.
Start composing a day-of time-line. Decide exactly how you want the evening to flow. When do you want speeches? When do you want toasts? How about the bride and groom dance as well as cake cutting. You get the idea.
Work on a rough head count with the caterer. Ask to have a sample dinner. If you’re planning to host a day-after brunch for guests, book that place as well.
Check on the wedding invitations. Ask if you can get a couple printed to take a look at. Finalize your invitation count just to make sure you have ordered enough. Don't forget order extra's just in case.
Make further arrangements for your wedding cake. Decide if you are going to have a grooms cake or individual take home cakes.
Send your guest list to the host of your shower if you are having a shower. Even if you are supposed to have a surprise shower.
Purchase wedding shoes and start dress fittings with the shoes. Scuff up bottoms of shoes with sandpaper so you won't slip while you are walking down the isle. Or anywhere for that mater.
We are definitely moving closer to the wedding day. I will keep repeating myself, and keep on writing notes twice until after the day and the we will rest. Well then you will rest, hen I will move on to the next wedding. This is Sandra Sable signing off until next time lets talk weddings.
