The True Love Quilting Club
This time out, I have the second book in Lori Wilde's 'Twilight, Texas' series, The True Love Quilting Club (Avon, bought). This time Trixie Lynn Parks has given up her dreams of a successful acting career to come home to tiny Twilight, Texas. She finds her high school sweetheart Sam Cheek widowed and a father, but otherwise, still the same Sam she fell in love with many years ago. Sam loved Trixie long ago, but the beautiful Emma, aka Trixie Lynn, Parks who comes back to town with his first love's face has not had an easy time of it since she left Twilight. They were best friends when they were in school, and it turns out to be easier than one would think to go back to that place, of being able to talk to someone you trust, to tell them anything and know they'll say exactly the right thing, even if it's not what you want to hear. But Sam has his son to think of, and he knows Trixie Lynn isn't meant to stay in Twilight, that with her talent she's destined for someplace bigger and shinier. That doesn't stop two hearts destined to be together, however, from falling in love all over again. Sam's had his own rough patches over the years, including the death of his wife, and his heart is nearly as well-protected as Emma's. This story is filled with true-to-life emotions, fabulously-drawn characters, and a really sweet story with a couple who needed to be apart to really appreciate the love they share between them. It was so much fun to go back to Twilight, Texas, and I hope we get to revisit it often. I'm borrowing four and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one.
Until next time, happy reading!
