Texas Hill Country FUTURES Tour
This week the Duramed FUTURES Tour is making its stop in the Hill Country of Texas at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. This is the first time for the Dominion Country club to host the FUTURES Tour. The Dominion Club is a world class stop for the young golfers as they will host 144 talented and upcoming professional golfers to south Texas.
The Dominion Country Club has hosted the Seniors Tour for the past 17 years and this course will offer a challenging play for the young golfers. This will be the first time San Antonio will be able to be up front and close to young professional women golfers. These gals are very approachable as they will be playing in the Pro-Am. The course is a good layout to watch the golfers on the course and the visitors can get a close up look as they follow them around the course.
There are many volunteers in the cities this tour is playing so if you want to get a personal look of young professional golfers join up and volunteer your services. It is a good opportunity for young golfers in the area to watch these gals as they work their way to the LPGA. The top money winners so far are Cindy LaCrosse from Florida, Angela Oh, from New Jersey and Gerina Mendosa from New Mexico.
You will find young women golfers from all around the world, many from Korea, China and Australia plus from most every state in the United States. What a treat for a community that hosts these young professional players. Being able to play at a great course like the Dominion Golf Club it will be a great experience for them.
On this first year for the tournament to be played at the Dominion the FUTURES Tour considers this to be compared to any LPGA event on their tour. It takes a lot of people who work hard to get enough people and the volunteers to make such an event possible. The community also is benefits from this tour as many organizations are helped from the proceeds of such a tournament. People of the community also offer their homes to the players to stay during they time here. This also is a good chance to get to know these players.
The FUTURES Tour has worked hard to involve and improve the communities with this tournament. They have been partnered with Ochoa Sports Management that helps organize several LPGA tournaments and working together they have tried to improve these events. That is why this event this week at the Dominion Golf Club is an exciting event for them.
I only wish that I could have attended this one as it is not that far away from where I live in Texas. It just so happens that I also am involved with our Community Chorus and we are giving a Spring Concert on this weekend. I also am setting up the reception for the donors to our chorus before the concert so I will be busy myself but now with golf.
