Mother's Day Gifts for 2010

Mother's Day Gifts for 2010
Mother’s Day is a very important holiday in the year. When it comes to flowers and gift plants, this holiday accounts for over 22% of all holiday transactions during the year and over 23% of dollar volume.

When moms are gardeners it is so easy to choose appropriate gifts for Mother’s Day. I highly recommend seed collections from Renee’s Garden. Renee’s sells top quality seeds of distinctive varieties in beautiful water color decorated packets. These make great gifts. They’re available at leading garden centers and nurseries as well as on the website.

For 2010 Renee’s is offering two wonderful easy to grow seed collections. The Container Kitchen Garden Collection features compact gourmet vegetables that are easy to grow in pots and other containers. This is a great gift for beginning gardeners. It includes a complete, easy to follow, how-to brochure that provides all the instructions.

Another great item for gifts is A Rainbow Kitchen Garden Collection from Renee’s. This new item features five packs of seeds. These are especially suitable for beginners. The vegetables are colorful gourmet varieties. This includes complete, easy to follow instructions.

For Mother’s Day gifts an assortment of Renee’s new vegetable seeds would be well received. Spanish Padron peppers are a delightful gourmet variety. The plants bear large crops beginning early in the season. The attractive tapered fruits are just the right size for appetizers.

Also new for 2010 are the Sea of Red lettuce and Sweetie Baby Romaine. New herbs from Renee’s include Amsterdam seasoning celery. Unlike traditional celery, this is grown and used like parsley.

Flower seeds also make great gifts for gardening moms. Jack and Jill is a delightful new sweet pea from Renee’s. Growing on three foot tall vines, these reliable plants begin blooming early. Very tolerant of heat, they have lovely salmon-rose and pastel blue blossoms.

When moms need hand gardening tools, there’s nothing more beautiful than the new Victoria and Albert Garden Tools. These are decorated with William Morris historical designs. Exceptionally beautiful, they’re ergonomically designed. This is a collaboration of the Victoria and Albert Museum and William Morris Designs.

For Mother’s Day consider an assortment of garden stationery from Galison. They’ve added all sorts of new items for 2010 that will appeal to moms who garden. The new Writers Notebooks are perfect gifts for environmentally conscious individuals for they’re made from 100% recycled paper. You can choose from lined, blank, or graph paper. For gardeners you can select from three designs. These include Leaf Garden, Lucie Summers, and Little Blue Birds. A pack contains three notebooks.

Also new from Galison is the Avian Friends Coaster Set. These come in a beautifully decorated tin containing a set of four cork-backed coasters. Each coaster features a different design depicting birds with flowers.

For gourmet cooks consider some of Galison’s new Kitchen Collage items for Mother’s Day. The Fruit Collage Accordion Organizer has an elastic closure and pencil holder. The lightly lined pad contains 40 sheets. This has six accordion dividers for storing notes, receipts, and other small items. One inch thick, this measures 6½ by four inches. It is beautifully decorated with images of fruits.

Galison’s new Recipe Organizer is a perfect gift for cooks. This new item is a sturdy hard cover with a three-ring binder that holds regular 8½ by 11 inch paper. It features eight full color pocket tabs that are decorated with garden produce and kitchen aids. This organizer contains 40 recipe sheets that will hold 120 recipes. The website has free printable recipe sheets for refills. On the inside of the covers are handy conversion charts.

For disclosure purposes, I received seeds from Renee's and free samples of these Galison products for evaluation.
