Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple is an anime based on a manga by Syun Matsuena.
Kenichi Shirhama is the main character of the series. He's a 16-year-old student who is viewed as a weakling by his peers and has been picked on his whole life; in fact, he was ranked as the weakest student, and is often referred to as a loser. Kenichi also spends a bit of time reading various "how to" books, and has a rather whiny nature. However, he is motivated to try to become stronger so he can protect others.
About a month into his freshman year, he meets a transfer student named Miu Furinji. One day, when he is walking home from school, he sees Miu standing up to a group of bullies who have pushed down an elderly man. Miu gets into an argument with the bullies, and Kenichi tries to save the day. However, just as the bullies are about to beat up Kenichi, Miu uses some martial arts and saves Kenichi. Miu shows her gentle nature when she has a talk with Kenichi about his interest in karate and how he wants to become stronger. Miu also tells him about a dojo called Ryozanpaku that can help him become stronger. After following Miu's bizarre instructions to get to the dojo, he learns that Miu's grandfather owns it.
After learning the basics, Kenichi is able to defeat a high ranking member of his school's karate club; however, this makes Kenichi a target for all the delinquents at his school. Then, Kenichi finds that his routine includes grueling training under the six masters at the dojo and fighting against a gang calling themselves Ragnarok.
While there is no real blood or gore in Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, it really isn't an anime being aimed at younger children. There is some "fan service" (primarily panty shots), as well Kenichi ogling some of the female characters. This includes shots focusing on these characters' breasts; however, the breasts are covered, so no actual nudity is seen. Personally, I would recommend Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple to anime viewers who are 16 or 17 years of age and older.
