Hair Styles for a Pear Shaped Face
This curly hair style is layered and texturized to release the curl and create a messy look. The style is worn full and high on the top with hair pieces partially covering the forehead – not completely covering it. From the ear level down, the hair is kept close to the face – not allowing the curl to cause fullness at the jaw line. Bring pieces of hair toward the jaw to partially conceal it. Hair lengths for this style are from about four inches at the top to one or two inches at the sides. Fringe on the neck can be a bit longer.
To style this hair cut, apply smoothing serum and medium hold styling gel. Dry it with a blow dryer and vent brush, creating fullness at the top. Use a large curling iron to loosen the curl and smooth the ends. Finish the style by scrunching in hair cream or pomade to separate the curls and layers.
Style your straight hair into a similar shaped style. This long shag style is long at the bottom with lots of shorter layers at the top and at the sides of the forehead. Fullness is kept at the top with the longer layers at the sides kept very close to the face. The bangs should conceal part of the forehead but not all of it. Full bangs (all the way across the forehead) are not a good fit for a pear shaped face. Allowing some of the forehead to show helps to add length to the face shape.
To style this look, apply firm hold styling mousse or gel. Dry your hair with a blow dryer and large round brush. Create fullness at the top and brush the sides close. Use pomade to add fullness to the top and to separate the layers.
