How to Make Scented Skin Care Products
There’s nothing like having a “Spa Party”, but suppose you want to use naturally scented skin care products? Make your own! It's fun, it's a great way to socialize with friends and family And what a great gift item you've made with love.
I'm sharing two receipts that are quick, easy and they smell so good! That's what it's all about, right? How good it smells to you. We're often lead by our nose to wonderful and enchanting places, so let your journey begin.
Shea Butter Soaps with Lemongrass herbs
Melt and pour soap-1 cup
2 tbsp of natural unprocessed shea butter
1 tablespoon of lemon grass herbs
A double boiler
soap molds or plastic food containers
drying rack
-In your double boiler- add water and bring to a boil
-While the water is boiling, coat your molds with jojoba, almond or coconut oil
-Add herbs to coated molds
-Add your shea butter and melt and pour soap and stir gently
-Once melted-remove from heat and add herbs-stir herbs into mixture and pour into your mold
-Allow to set and harden
turn soap out onto rack
Not only will this soap smell wonderful, the herbs that are coating the soaps will make a great exfoliant for your body. Now of course you’ll have to deal with the excess herbs that fall off into your tub or shower but aren’t you worth it.
Oh!, and this is a great gift idea. Next!
Shea Butter Foot Scubs
1 half cup of unrefined shea butter
2 tablespoons of fine sea salt or jojoba wax beads (if you suffer from high blood pressure use the jojoba wax beads)
Suggested scents- almond, vanilla & amber, pineapple coconut- The choice is endless-Just a few drops
Mix ingredients together in a stainless steel bowl and package into a 4 ounce container
You can be as creative as you want with the packaging. I would take caution with glass containers because you’ll be using this product in wet areas (bath tubs, shower)
And yes, this is a great gift item also. Have fun as you and your friends gather for relaxing spa nights with products that can be shared as gifts or used to pamper yourself.
