How to Shop for a New Golf Cart
I have been thinking about getting a new or reconditioned golf cart for some time. I have had my golf cart for five years and it was used when I bought it. As I was telling my son Doug that I was planning to check into getting a new golf cart he said he would be interested in buying my old one. Since he and his wife are building a new house which will include a large garage/office on an acre and a half of land. He said that he could use it to help take care of his property.
I thought this would work for me so have been checking and doing some research online to see what kind of golf cart I am interested in. Since I have a Club Brand Cart and there is a Club Cart dealership in town I checked on their site first. Our dealership is called the Fairway Golf Cart and they started this dealership in Salado, Texas and have since opened another store in Austin. They have serviced my golf cart since that is where I purchased my used cart.
I had new batteries installed in this cart so it will be up and running when my son is ready to pick this up. I have checked out the Fairway Golf web site and it gives me all the Spec and accessories that are available for the Club Cart design. I know just what I am looking for as far as accessories go and have to decide on the color. I am leaning on Red as that is the color of the golf cart we have now and had in the past many years ago when we lived in Iowa. My husband was also fond of the color red as we both were fans of Go Big Red Nebraska Footfall.
I do like the looks of the Black carts I have seen around our golf course so may just add the accent colors in Red. Since we have such hot weather it is wise to get seat covers as those seats can get awfully hot in the summer. Seat covers are also nice in the winter so want to check out the different kinds that are available. I want to have a cooler installed as I always bring plenty of water and snacks during those 18 holes of golf.
I want to look for containers to hold golf balls and items you need while playing golf. I do have a shelf that fits under the seat above the batteries to hold extra golf supplies. When you play golf you like to have all your things and equipment close at hand. Most of our gals have their own cart except those that do not live on the golf course. They use the Club carts so they are not as well insulated as one can do with their own cart.
Now that I have finished all my Christmas shopping, my baking done and food boxes have been sent plus handed out to friends, I am ready to shop for a golf cart as a Christmas present to myself. I plan to visit our Club Cart dealership this next week to see what they can do for me. I am sure I will write about it with pictures when it is all finalized. It may not be delivered until next year in January some time. My son will come and pick up my cart sometime in February, my garage is large so will have a place to store it until he is ready.
