Young Adult Books Bestsellers Like Twilight Tales

Young adults books like bestsellers Twilight and Breaking Dawn are great, but we need more books such as the ones in this article to keep them reading. Short scary stories about love and supernatural romance are popular with teens but what if they finish them real quick because they're advanced readers? Short scary stories like 'Twilight' and the other Stephenie Meyer stories might be the answer - and might make an unusual gift for a teen reader who has 'read everything!'

Another girl is transported back to an 'olde-worlde' village where her sweetheart is ostracized by the village folk on the grounds of being a 'fairy being.' Creepier still, another girl falls in love with the ghost of a dead boy who came to a very tragic end.
The first story begins with a typically paranormal description and tells how the character wakes up in a cold sweat, with shivers down the spine and tingling fingers, only to discover - a strange red mark. In another weird and wonderful story an auburn-haired heroine hears a slow, breathless rhythmic voice calling her name over and over again, slower and slower.
All in all, the supernatural love stories anthology presents a good range of dark fantasy teen romances that would seem a good challenge to 'Twilight' or 'Breaking Dawn' in terms of the spookiness of the writing and the engaging appeal of the young characters - another good set of teen reads.
Whilst not really suitable for children (or even for some squeamish adults) this book might make a great quick, easy-to-read gift for teens who enjoy paranormal fiction, vampire romances and supernatural love stories. Teens who need extension reading to widen their literary scope could be encouraged towards the classics, such as Edgar Allen Poe's 'The Pit and the Pendulum', 'The Black Cat', 'The Raven' and also of course young adult books involving Gothic fiction such as 'Frankenstein', 'Dracula' or the truly excellent 'Oxford Book Of Victorian Gothic Fiction.' These would make a challenging learning curve from young adults books 'bestsellers!.
