Diet Food vs. Real Food Weight Loss Plans


Have you ever noticed that most weight loss plans that get results long term teach one very important skill? It’s eating real food and cooking healthy meals. A weight loss plan that gets you results that lasts rarely requires you to eat diet food all the time.

But the diet industry doesn't focus on that. Instead they focus 100% on creating a calorie deficit and they hardly teach you anything about the quality of the food you're eating. They also don't teach you that losing weight is 100% dependent on getting healthy first.

The diet industry has spent millions to convince you that calorie reduction is the only thing matters and has built an entire line of products to help you accomplish this but the truth is that a calorie deficit without nutrients from real food only works short term.

Your body was designed to digest real food not lab engineered food that is full of ingredients and chemicals that are unrecognizable. Your body was also designed to get satisfaction from food and this rarely happens when eating those cardboard tasting meals out of a box.

The Result of Eating Diet Food Long Term

Two things happen to your body when you've been eating diet food for too long.

1. You get no satisfaction from your diet food so you begin cheating all the time and you gain the weight back or you gain extra weight back.

2. Your body becomes nutrient deficient so your fat burning systems become compromised which leads to stubborn fat deposits that don’t respond to exercise, adrenal fatigue that makes you feel exhausted all the time, and worst of all you calorie burn goes way down because your body knows it’s not getting the nutrients it needs.

Should You Ever Eat Diet Food?

So is it ever o.k. to cheat with fake food or diet food? The answer to that question is rarely. There are plenty of chemical free portable foods that are healthier, more satisfying, and less expensive. An apple and a handful of cashews is still less than $1. Compare that to the nearly $3 that most companies are charging for their nasty snack bars and frozen meals that taste like cardboard.

Diet food is good business but that doesn’t make it good for you. If your goal is to lose the weight without struggling and to keep it off for life then make sure that 90% of what you put in your body is real food that promotes health.
