New Characters

Daniel Cosgrove – ex. “Bill Lewis”, Guiding Light

Cosgrove will join the cast of As the World Turns in early 2010. With this new addition, I wonder if Daniel will have interactions with Mick Dante, a recently debuted character on As the World Turns, portrayed by Tom Pelphrey. That would please Guiding Light fans, and add a new twist in the small town of Oakdale. Some fans are speculating if he will be the new Chris Hughes. He has the look, and definitely fits the role. Who will his love interest be? Will this be another beau for Allison?

Tom Pelphrey – ex. “Jonathan Randall”, Guiding Light


Pelphrey joined the cast of As the World Turns as Oakdale’s newest bad boy, Mick Dante. Even the name sounds too bad to be good! Mick Dante debuted this week, and the first person he met in Oakdale was Allison Stewart. Mick met Allison in the hospital stairwell, claiming to be lost, and could not find his way out of the hospital. Of course Allison wants to help, since she seems to have this heroine syndrome. Mick informs her that he is a medical researcher, and has an appointment with Dr. Hughes to discuss his findings. Allison introduces Mick to Emily and Paul. Mick demonstrates what his youth serum can do, and he asks if they are interested in funding his project. After much skepticism on Paul’s part, they make a deal. Paul gives Mick a stern warning that he is watching him closely, and will not be duped by scams. Something tells me the bad part of Mick has not surfaced. If this is indeed a scam on Mick’s part, he will have James Stenbeck’s son to deal with!

Old Characters

Fans will be glad to see three favorites returning to Oakdale: Dr. Ben, Mike Kasnoff, and Simon Frasier. My prediction is that Mike will reunite with Carly, and Simon will reunite with Katie. Oakdale is experiencing fireworks two months early!
