Could you ever make a bet with someone where if you lost the bet, you'd have to get a tattoo? Definitely not the sort of bet for the faint-hearted, this is one of the more rare reasons that you'll hear about for why someone wound up getting a tattoo. But it does happen.
Fall Out Boy lead singer Pete Wentz now can count himself in this small group of tattoo bettors. He made a bet with his long-time friend Gabe Saporta, bass player and singer for Cobra Starship. The bet was that if Cobra Starship's single "Good Girls Go Bad" went platinum (meaning it sold a million copies), then Wentz would allow Saporta to design a new tattoo for him, and he'd really go get it. It turns out that the song did hit the mark, and so Saporta took Wentz out to the tattoo parlor, instructing the artist to tattoo Wentz's leg with Saporta's portrait and the phrase, "Gabey Baby Made Me Go Bad."
How about making a bet that you'd get a tattoo if your friend lost a lot of weight? The two friends you'll see below made just such a deal this past summer, and took their agreement to YouTube.com as a way of recording the deal and putting the pressure on both folks to hold up their ends of the bet.
The bet was made at the end of June and was supposed to run through August 18th. No word on how the bet came out... Sports fans like to make bets where one fan might have to get a tattoo of the opposing team if certain games are lost. Here's one sports fan who was smart, and made the bet to just get a henna body painting instead of something permanent.
